Program Overview:
This comprehensive three-day workshop offers participants a hands-on introduction to the filmmaking process, from interpreting a script to producing a short film.
Day 1: Understanding the Script
- Morning Session: Analyzing a screenplay to identify key elements such as theme, character arcs, and visual storytelling techniques.
- Afternoon Session: Storyboarding and shot planning to translate the script into a visual narrative.
- Evening Activity: Group discussions on creative interpretations and directorial approaches.
Day 2: Production Techniques
- Morning Session: Introduction to filmmaking equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound.
- Afternoon Session: Practical exercises in camera operation, lighting setups, and sound recording.
- Evening Activity: Mock film shoot to apply learned techniques in a controlled environment.
Day 3: Post-Production and Final Screening
- Morning Session: Basics of editing, including software tools, pacing, and sound design.
- Afternoon Session: Participants will edit their footage, focusing on storytelling through editing choices.
- Evening Activity: Final screening of participant projects followed by a feedback session.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a foundational understanding of the filmmaking process and will have created a short film, showcasing their newfound skills.
